看完後，心情有沒有輕鬆一點呢？在之前的專欄裡，我們介紹了各種和疫情相關的詞彙，今天我們會繼續延續這個主題，一起學習各種能用來討論疫情的片語和單字！
量體溫
最近進入各個場所都需要測量體溫，若要表示「量某人體溫」，我們可以說 take one's temperature，若是「被量體溫的話」，可以說 have one's temperature taken，來看個例子：
The nurse has taken his temperature.（護士量了他的體溫。）
In Taiwan, people are having their temperature taken wherever they go.（在台灣，人們不管到哪裡都會被量體溫。）
乾洗手
最近進入各個場所時也會需要噴灑酒精消毒手部，在英文中，我們可以用 hand sanitizer 來表示「乾洗手」，舉個例子：
Every customer must use hand sanitizer to disinfect their hands.（每位消費者都必須用乾洗手消毒手部。）
恐慌搶購
近來疫情加劇，世界各國的人民害怕物資短缺，爭相搶購各種民生物資。英文裡，我們可以用 panic buying 表示「恐慌搶購」。例如：
Authorities have urged the public to stop panic buying.（各地政府呼籲大眾停止恐慌搶購。）
囤貨
要表示「囤貨」的話，我們則可以用動詞 stockpile 表示，舉個例子：
I wonder why people are stockpiling toilet paper. I can barely find a roll at the local supermarket!（我不懂為什麼大家都在囤衛生紙。我在當地的超市幾乎連一卷都找不到！）
居家檢疫
最近也有許多國人從國外返台，這時候都會需要「居家檢疫」，用英文表達的話可以說 home quarantine，舉個例子：
All travelers are obliged to undergo a 14-day home quarantine after arriving in Taiwan.（抵達台灣後，所有旅客都必須要進行 14 天居家檢疫。）
檢測為陽性 / 陰性
有感染風險的民眾都需要接受檢測，如果要表示「檢測為陽性」我們可以說 test positive，若「檢測為陰性」則是 test negative，舉個例子：
It was reported that three children under the age of 10 tested positive for the coronavirus.（據報導，三名十歲以下的孩童冠狀病毒檢測為陽性。）
My neighbor has just come back from Australia, and luckily, she has tested negative for COVID-19.（我鄰居最近剛從澳洲回來，她運氣很好，新冠病毒檢測為陰性。）
疫情達到高峰
現在各國都在觀望疫情何時會達到巔峰，度過最艱困的時期，這時我們用 peak 這個動詞表示「達到高峰」，或是用片語 reach peak 表示，舉個例子：
The doctor has said COVID-19 cases could peak over Easter and then begin to fall.（醫生說新冠病毒疫情在復活節時可能會達到高峰，接著開始下降。）
Experts claim that coronavirus deaths in the U.S. might reach peak in three weeks.（專家說在三週內，美國的冠狀病毒死亡人數可能會達到高峰。）
重災區
最近美國疫情升溫，成為了感染人數最多的國家，這時候我們可以用 epicenter 這個字表示「疫情最慘重的國家」，舉個例子：
Hit hard by it, the U.S. has become the new epicenter of the coronavirus pandemic.（受到冠狀病毒劇烈衝擊，美國成了現在疫情最慘重的國家。）
控制疫情散播
要有效防疫，最重要的就是要「控制疫情散播」，英文裡我們可以說 contain / curb the spread of the virus，舉個例子：
The government has instructed the public to follow social distancing measures to contain the spread of the virus.（政府要求大眾保持適當社交距離以控制疫情散播。）
封城；關閉邊界
為了控制疫情，許多國家都相繼封城、關閉邊界。要用英文表示「封城、封鎖」的話，我們可以說 be put on lockdown 或是 in lockdown；至於國家「關閉邊界」，我們可以說 close the border，舉個例子：
The UK has been put on lockdown to combat the coronavirus outbreak.（為了防止冠狀病毒疫情爆發，英國已全面封鎖。）
Many people in lockdown are streaming movies on Netflix at home.（封城時，許多人在家用 Netflix 看電影。）
The U.S.-Canada border has been closed to all non-essential travel in an attempt to curb the spread of coronavirus.（為了避免疫情散播，美加邊界已經關閉，禁止所有非必要的旅行。）
掩蓋疫情
在這關鍵時期，最擔心的就是政府掩蓋疫情。英文裡我們可以用 cover up 這個片語來表示「掩蓋、遮掩」，舉個例子：
We all know the country is notorious for spreading fake news. They might be covering up new COVID-19 cases.（我們都知道這個國家老愛散佈假新聞。他們可能正在掩蓋新冠病毒的新案例。）
將這些單字片語學起來，用英文閱讀和疫情相關的新聞時就會更容易囉！
