「?」問號(question mark)
同樣用法與中文很接近，可以用在表示疑問的語句之後。
例句：
Do you really think Tom will make it?
你真的認為Tom會成功嗎？
「:」冒號(colon)
用於介紹或解釋後方提及的內容，或是名單列表之前。
例句：
This is what he wants: a fancy car.
這就是他想要的：一台名車。
用於引用某段文字。
例句：
My boyfriend said: "It was horrible."
我的男朋友說：「這真的太恐怖了。」
用於主副標題之間。
例子：
The Physics of Christmas: From the Aerodynamics of Reindeer to the Thermodynamics of Turkey.
聖誕節的物理學：從馴鹿的空氣力學到火雞的熱力學。（中文書名：馴鹿為什麼會飛？）
「”」雙引號、「’」單引號(quotation marks)
事實上這兩種的用法一模一樣，差別只在美式英文會使用「雙引號」而英式英文會使用「單引號」，如果引號裡還有引號的話，就每層交替使用單、雙引號。實際用法如下：
用以標註引用的詞語或語句。
例句：
"Fine!"my mom said to me,"don't do that again."
我媽媽對我說 ：「好吧！下次別再這樣了。」
用以表示要強調的詞語。
例句：
The word I'm teaching today is"steak".
我今天要教的詞是「牛排」。
用以表示另有所指的詞語。
例句：
This is what I "love" about him.
這就是我「喜歡」他的地方（實際上是在講令人討厭之處）。
用以標註書籍、電影、文學、各式出版物等等創作品。
例句：
What do you think of "Game Of Thrones"?
你認為《權力遊戲》這部作品怎麼樣？
如果引號裡還有引號的話，就每層交替使用單、雙引號。
例句：
"The teacher told a joke in class. He asked, 'can anyone here prove that the Earth is round?' When nobody could answer his question, a boy raised his hand and directed the question back at the teacher, who then said, 'I can't. I never said it was.' We all laughed," my friend told me. （美式）
