● -aholic 或 -oholic 等字尾的英文單字通常是指「沉迷於...的 XX 狂」，例如 workaholic（工作狂）、alcoholic（酒鬼）、chocoholic（巧克力愛好者）等，而這邊的 shopaholic 則是指購物成癮的購物狂。
I think we're all shopaholics this time of year, and it's not our fault. Stores have a lot of tricks up their sleeve to get us to spend more money. They lure us in with all kinds of great deals, and then the second you walk into the store, someone sprays you in the eye with perfume. So you're all disoriented, and you end up buying the closest thing to you, which happens to be a very expensive Gucci bag. At least that's what Portia said happened.
我想我們在每年這個時候全都會是購物狂，這不是我們的錯。商店有許多詭計讓我們花更多錢。他們用各種超優惠的促銷引誘我們進去，然後在你走進商店的那一秒，某人就會用香水噴你的眼睛。所以你們全都失去了判斷能力，而且你們最後買下了離你最近的東西，而那剛好是一個非常昂貴的 Gucci 包。至少那是 Portia 說發生的事情。
● have something up one's sleeve 這個片語中的 sleeve 是「袖子」的意思，所以「他有東西在袖子裡面」比喻「偷留一招」、「暗藏錦囊妙計」的意思。
● sprays you in the eye with perfume 也是一個譬喻的用法，字面上意思是「把香水噴在你的眼睛裡」，但是在這邊的意思是指盲目購物，就如同被店員噴瞎了眼睛一樣。
And stores always win us over with those magical words that no one can resist: "Free shipping." Oh, boy. When I hear "free shipping," I hear an angel's choir in my mind. And they tease us with these buy-one-get-one-free sales. Right?
商店總是用那些沒人能抵擋的神奇說詞說服我們：「免運費」。喔，天啊。當我聽到「免運費」，在我腦中可以聽到天使合唱團的歌聲。他們還用這些買一送一的促銷嘲弄我們。對吧？
● 最近很紅的某種生物皮購物網就是靠著店到店購物免運費而夯爆，更不定期推出各種免運方案，試圖讓人剁手指！「免運費」的英文就是 free shipping；另外，buy one get one free（買一送一）這個關鍵字更是一定要記起來，這聽不懂不算專業的購物狂啊！
That... Because you know... Don't fall for it! The last time I was in a store, and there was a canoe, and it said, "Buy one, get one free."And I thought, Well, I don't need a canoe, but how can I turn down two canoes? I ain't no dummy.
那...因為你知道...別受騙了!上次我在一間店裡，有條獨木舟，它寫著：「買一送一」。我想：「這個嘛，我又不需要一條獨木舟，但我怎麼可以拒絕兩條獨木舟呢？我又不是蠢蛋。」
● fall for 在這裡是「受...的騙、對...信以為真」的意思。 另外如果用 fall for someone，則是「對某人一見傾心、迷戀某人」的意思喔。
Since it's so easy to overspend, I thought I'd share a few helpful tips on how to save money this holiday season.
既然如此容易花太多錢，我想我就分享幾個如何在這個節慶季節省錢的實用技巧。
● overspend 代表花費超支，也就是口語中常說的「爆預算」，在這邊當動詞用，但可也可當名詞，例如 I'm
expecting to have a three thousand dollars overspend this season.（我預估這一季預算會超支三千元。）
Tip number one: If you have a hard time controlling yourself, leave your credit cards at home. Bring someone else's credit cards to the store. Okay? Tip number one.
技巧一：如果你很難控制你自己，將你的信用卡留在家裡。帶別人的信用卡去商店。好嗎？這是第一個技巧。
● Have difficulty /trouble/ a hard time + doing something 都代表「對於做某件事情有困難」。
Tip number two: Stores put their most tempting displays on eye level. That's a little trick. So avoid that and walk in stilts. If you can bring in, like, really tall stilts, make sure there's high ceilings.
技巧二：商店將他們最吸引人的商品擺在眼睛的高度。那是一個小花招。所以避開它，並穿高蹺鞋走路。如果你可以帶進，像是，真的很高的高蹺鞋，確保店裡有很高的天花板。
